The Team

The Trees Project is driven by a team of professionals and volunteers dedicated to environmental conservation and community development. Our team blends local knowledge with international experience to lead reforestation efforts. Each member plays a crucial role in the success of our mission. Piero Marsiaj

Piero is an IT person with some scientific background (a degree in Astronomy). He grew up in Uganda following his parents who worked there as volunteers for 17 years. He is now serving in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Rome and he’s the president of the non-profit organization Amici di Angal, the main funder of the rural hospital St. Luke in Angal, Uganda. He’s married, father of Alessandro, a musician, and Gaia, a lab researcher in art conservation and restoration.
Giulia Carollo

Giulia firmly believes that curiosity and solidarity change people and the world. With a degree in Local and Global Cooperation and Development, she has been involved in fundraising and social project writing for over 5 years. She has chosen to work in the nonprofit world to give substance to the incurable idealist in herself.
Deogratias Ofoyrwoth

Deo is a devoted Ugandan from Angal, now living in Nebbi District, West Nile. As a married father of four, he is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Accounting. His strong commitment to supporting underprivileged communities is clear in his current role, reflecting his alignment of community-focused values with his academic and professional goals.
Pablo Rodriguez

Pablo born in Spain, is currently living in Germany, and is licensed in performing arts. He has lived and worked, mainly, as a Customer Experience manager in several Countries around the World. With a natural passion for diverse cultures, and a personal love relationship with Africa, his goal is to improve the life in the planet one little step at a time. He aims to bring his skills to anything that could be beneficial to make the World a better place. “I am because we are” is his life Motto.
Carlo Piccillo

Carlo is originally from Italy. As he came of age, he left home to immerse himself in German culture. His journey took him across various places, including Spain and Malta, where he worked and studied. He holds a Master’s degree in Design of Sustainable Tourism Systems and is currently based in Berlin. He has extensive experience in project management with communities and combines his strong language skills with IT proficiency. His aim is to understand and apply the value of interconnection.
